President Zardari, Nawaz Sharif hold one-on-one meeting

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif held one-on-one at the Presidency on Wednesday.  During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the overall situation in the country. This is the first time President Zardari and Nawaz Sharif met following the PML-N win in the general elections.  Speaking to the media after the meeting, President Zardari said that the presidency would cooperate fully with Nawaz Sharif and he already considered the PML-N chief the prime minister of Pakistan. In reply to a question if the PPP would support Nawaz Sharif as the prime minster, Zardari replied that this decision would be made by Amin Fahim.  Commenting on the meeting, Nawaz Sharif said everyone had to work together to resolve problems being faced by the country. The PML-N chief added that he had made no demands for the resignation of the president. €śWe have Pakistan's interest in mind not our own,€ť Nawaz said.
