CM Sindh declares Tharparkar calamity hit

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has declared Tharparker as calamity hit following the severe drought in the district.  Speaking to the media, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that a lack of rain had led to a drought and diseases were spreading in Thraparkar.  A report had been sent to the Chief Minister by the provincial relief department regarding the situation in Tharparkar following which it was declared as calamity hit.  Memon adds that relief will be provided to the 1.4 million residents of the district.
